All On-Balance Physiotherapists at Simba Health are trained in the assessment and treatment of vertigo, dizziness, BPPV, imbalance, headaches and related cervical conditions. All of our vestibular physiotherapists have completed extensive, competency-based training in vestibular rehabilitation and bring advanced skills in diagnosing and managing disorders of the inner ear, balance system, and associated neurological and musculoskeletal contributors.
All our clinicians are also trained to perform The Epley Manoeuvre, a highly effective, non-surgical, four-step repositioning technique used to treat posterior canal Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). It works by guiding dislodged calcium carbonate crystals (canaliths) out of the semicircular canal and back into the utricle of the inner ear, where they no longer trigger vertigo symptoms.
All clinicians are also experienced in concussion management and the assessment and treatment of cervicogenic headaches.
Due to the complexity of the vestibular system and its associated symptoms, all new patients, as well as returning patients experiencing a new episode, undergo a comprehensive assessment to direct suitable and effective treatment pathways. Each appointment is strongly focused on reducing symptoms, improving balance, and restoring function.
We also utilise Vestibular Function Testing, including oVEMPs and cVEMPs, to help objectively assess otolith and vestibular nerve function and support accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment planning.
As a private practice, we are committed to delivering high-quality, accessible care, including for paediatric patients where vestibular dysfunction is often under-recognised.
