Your vertigo, dizziness, imbalance or headache can be caused by many different conditions. The most common disorders are BPPV, vestibular neuritis, labyrinthitis, Meniere’s disease and neck problems and less commonly head injury, whiplash injury, tumor and stroke.
Initial Assessment ( approximately 1 hour): The physiotherapist will determine the nature of your problem through understanding the course of events, the effect on your lifestyle and your current symptoms. Then clinical tests are conducted which are designed to diagnose the likely cause of the problem and you are educated and advised as to its’ management and the anticipated recovery process, considering lifestyle and expectations.
An individualised treatment programme is devised and delivered based on your asseement. Treatment may be conducted in the rooms or you may need a home programme of exercise to address your needs.
Follow-up appointments (approximately 30 minutes) are usually required to reassess, review and progress home exercise programmes and answer questions you may have.
The number of appointments required depends on you, your problem and how you respond to treatment. Everyone is different and all treatment is individualised.
